A Message from Niki (Jesus Loves You)

30 yrs ago, my dear sweet mom left us...went to be in a better place...bittersweet day being that my Iokepa was born the same day. Blessings come where we least expect them.

At my age of 50, I've lived longer than my mother did (she was 41 when she passed) and I've been able to reflect upon so much...especially in the past few years. I feel as though my life is just beginning where she, at the age of 39, began to declare even more each day that she wouldn't live long. She said she wouldn't live past 40...

Unfortunately, she was an alcoholic and very depressed. She left behind 6 awesome kids who have grown into amazing people. I know she would be proud. She would have loved all her grandchildren and now great-grandchildren. Her love for babies was one of a kind! She was meek and wouldn't hurt anyone yet, each day, she slowly hurt herself with her addiction.

Not a day goes by that I don't miss my mom. But I am blessed that generational curses are broken and that I am here to enjoy my family. To pray for others. To share the greatness of my God and Savior.  That my beautiful children are blessed with characteristics from her....her twinkle in her eyes, her shy smile, and her kind and giving heart. I am blessed each and every day to have had as many years as I did with her. I'm blessed that I see her in each of my babies. God blesses us in so many ways that we may not realize. Today, I declare that my life is blessed, that I have favor, and that He is my Lord and Savior and I am grateful for the trials that have come and gone so that I may help someone through theirs...

I pray that, whoever reads this, has been touched in one way or another. Whatever you think you can't overcome, you can do all things with God. 

My point of posting this is for anyone who may suffer from depression...from addiction... From feeling "less than", if you're accepting that "this is it!", or you're feeling stuck and are getting by each day instead of living each day... If you're in a dark place and feel like there is nowhere to turn... Look to Jesus, He's the answer. You can receive Him into your heart right now, right at this moment by saying this prayer with me...

Heavenly Father, I confess my sins and ask Your forgiveness. I believe in Your Son Jesus, who died on the cross and rose on the third day. I receive Jesus into my heart as my Lord and my Savior. Take complete control of my life and help me to walk in Your footsteps daily by the power of the Holy Spirit. Thank you, Lord, for saving me and for answering my prayer. In Jesus name... Amen and Amen.
